99 bottles of beer on the wall... OK four.

Posted by Antony Perring on Thursday, November 26, 2009,
Bottled up the beer this morning and the bottles are already doing their magic.

I'm only making a half a batch this time around so it's just the four bottles I've been able to fill.
It's still three and a half litres or so of ginger beer, so just enough to be going on with I think.

Very important to have everything clean and organised before you start mixing the batch of ginger beer up.

Melt the sugar in enough boiling water to be sure it's dissolved, add lemon juice and cold water to make up...

Day 6 - Hit the bottle

Posted by Antony Perring on Monday, November 23, 2009,
With the inaugural ginger beer experiment bubbling away nicely in the jar on the kitchen bench, bottles are now the top priority.

I've heard a lot of stories in the past few days about bottle-related disasters, and I'm keen to avoid any of them.

I'm looking forward to the cloudy concoction fermenting quietly in a laundry cupboard for a few weeks and mixing up a few summer cocktails with the result.

The experiment commenced today with the germination of my plant or "mother" and the bottling should commence next week - after i do a bit of diving into...

Newtown Festival

Posted by Antony Perring on Sunday, November 8, 2009,
Scattered showers made for a sticky day at the festival - on the upside sunburn was kept to a minimum and a fun time was had.

Just a few pics in the post today to give you an idea of the shenanigans.  Unfortunately I was having too much fun to pay too much attention to the camera yesterday.
